Standford University will open a Blockchain Research Center in Sillicon Valley | CriptoNews

Likewise, the directors of the Center expect that various doctoral theses in computer science and other areas of interest will be generated.

In the first five years of the project, this will be funded by Protocol Labs OmiseGO Interchain Foundation PolyChain Capital DFINITY Stiftung and the Ethereum Foundation. The founder of the latter, Vitalik Buterin, expressed, through the social network Twitter, his enthusiasm in supporting the Research Center.

Silicon Valley already has a Research Center founded in 2016 by the Japanese multinational Hitachi. In March of this year Fujitsu, in turn, opened an International Blockchain Research Center in Brussels, Belgium.
